anecdotes vs. chronicles
2001-03-03 @ 19:07:58

You may have noticed some entries lately that are different.

Not really different. More of a different tone, I guess.

I think this is why.

Last time Jet was down I let him read my paper journal. The one I have had since I was 16. The one that chronicles my life as a gay teenager. The one that shows the evolution of my handwriting, incidently.

Am I the only person on this planet that periodically recreates their handwriting?

At first I was nervous to let him read it. It actually ended up having a very positive and affirming outcome. He was quite taken with it. Intrigued because it was a original unedited record of what growing up gay was like for ME. (I'm sure it is different for us all, and only common themes prevail.)

So as I was saying, a couple of my entries have a different tone as of late. That's cause I am trying to move back to a more chronicle style Journal. The anecdotes of my life will still be a big part. I still enjoy telling about the funny quirks of my life, but I can also appreciate the, "Today I did this . . ." style entries. So if you find those mundane, give me another chance look back. I'm sure you will find something ultimately more entertaining. Realize that those "Today I did this . . ." entries are more for me, then for you.

Enjoy.
