A series of brief sketches . . .
Sunday, January 27th, 2002 @ 8:45 a.m.

So, forget metamucile, cause when I have those first few sips of coffee every morning it is time to go, if you know what I mean.

I'm curious. Does anyone else have a similar experience? Or is it some weird wackiness of my biochemistry. Corazon, is there some psychological reason for this? Is it linked to the Garcia affect? ;)

My first homework assignment is to draw a self portrait. I was a bit nervous about it really. I started to rub down my piece of paper with charcoal and do an eraser drawing. I always seemed to get more accurate results with that technique way back when. But I decided not to do what I'm comfortable with and to try to improve what I struggle with. So I got my 2H, 2B, 4B, 6B, and 8B pencils out and went to town.

I'm not disappointed with the outcome so far. I think it is even looking a bit like me. Somewhat. Here is a snippet of it. Very unfinished.

Bruce called last night. It was good to talk to him. I've always thought of him as a friend first. I think we can be friends. I know he needs one right now.

So much work to do! Getting started. No more playing on the computer.

Sooner, I kissed a girl once. It was my first senior year of college. Stephanie, one of my better friends, She was all "I'm bi, but I've never kissed a boy."

"Yeah, I'm gay, and have never kissed a girl." Well, as you can imagine this led to much giggling between the two of us, as we realized we HAD to do this. There in the Regent's Row Residence Hall parking lot, she kneeling in the front passenger seat of her Ford Escort, leaning over to the back seat, me perched on the edge of the back seat, leaning forward. Alexis and Shawna were eagerly looking on, oddly excited by the fact that we were about to kiss.

I have to say her tongue ring added an interesting dimension. Oh yes, we went for the whole hog, no closed mouth delicate peck on the lips were to be had. After a brief period of what was probably half a minute, we lean back. A bit of a confused bewildered look on our faces. Alexis and Shawna were stomping there feat and howling with laughter. "WELL!?" They demanded.

Simultaneously, "She's a good kisser." "He's a good kisser." Both nodding in sincerity as if we were, in all seriousness, using some agreed upon rubric to assign a grade to each other.

We stared at each other a bit longer. Then agreed, that while technically our kissing skills were proficient, neither of us really got any deeper feelings out of it.

At least we can both claim to have kissed the other sex now.
