ure a terorust.
Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002 @ 6:21 p.m.

Keep in mind I teach second graders.

7 year olds.

I intercepted this note today.

I chuckled at the time, but it's actually a bit thought provoking I think.

The note read. "ure a terorust. Anywon can be a terorust, even Mr. Madrigle."

(I admired the comma usage and phonetic spelling, but chided the lack of capitalization and poor hand writing. returned it with corrections and told him to NOT get caught next time he wants to pass a note in my class. Amateur.)

I could lie and lament the innocence of childhood and say I didn't have those things to worry about as a child, but truth is at that age, Reagan era politics had me up shivering under my covers formulating plans for evacuating my far flung family to Mexico in the event of a Nuclear war. I remember thinking that it wouldn't be hard to coordinate with my sister who lived in the same town with her husband, but that my brother would have a hard time reuniting with us as he had atleast a 4 hour drive from Albuquerque to get to us, assuming we all weren't vaporized in the first round of hits. In which case all my planning and worrying over a coordinated family evacuation plan to either the Gila Wilderness or Mexico really didn't matter anyways.

Yes I've always been that weird. I don't think I worry that much anymore though.

Damn boyscouts and their fucking 'be prepared' moto.
