I haven't mentioned it here, but I was supposed to present next month at a national education conference on integrating science education into the content areas. Basically that means finding ways of teaching science concepts in time that is traditionally reading time, or math time, or writing time.
It sounds easy enough, and really it is, but inordinate amounts of energy and moolah are spent trying to find the best ways to do it.
It was all part of that dream educational publishing job that I wrote about a couple months back, but the guy I was going to present with, decided to up and retire from my dream educational
publishing company. So now the company tells me I still get to fly out there, I just get to attend the conference, rather then be a presenter. I'm disappointed, but in the long run it's STILL a
weekend away, AND a Monday and Tuesday not in my classroom.
