My Dear Mrs. L'Engle

Dear Mrs. LEngle,

In some strange way I feel as though I know you. As a child, my elementary librarian, Mrs. Allen urged us all to read your masterpiece, A Wrinkle in Time. She must have had some incredible sales pitch because there was soon a waiting list to check out the library's only copy . . . I never had the opportunity to read it then as a child. The next school year I was eager to check it out, but Mrs. Allen was gone and so was A Wrinkle in Time. Now as an adult I wonder if perhaps the new librarian, I dont remember her name, thought it an inappropriate title, which makes me very sad. Anyway, two years ago, as a twenty-seven year old I rediscovered your book, by chance, at my neighborhood bookstore and just knew I had to read it! I think I devoured it in one sitting. I remember thinking then what I missed out on as a child by not reading it. Im now a gifted resource teacher in Albuquerque, NM and am sharing your book with my fourth and fifth grade students for the very fist time. They love your words, and I think secretly they like that A wrinkle in Time is about some very bright children, not unlike themselves.
I really just wanted to take this time to thank you for putting so much good out into this world.

I hope this letter finds you well,

Madrigle

P.S. We werent even halfway through the first chapter when Michael interrupted to ask if we were going to read your other books this year!
