a little turquoise conure showed up on my step
Monday, May. 22, 2006 @ 7:03 a.m.

I dreamt last night of a little turquoise colored conure. I found him, rescued him, he was an escapee. I can't explain to you how overjoyed, how heart-happy, I was to be in the company of a parrot again. I can't find any aviaries in New Mexico that raise Poicephalus, other then Senegals. They are cute little chaps, but they are over priced here. I could probably get another red-belly hen from my favorite aviary in Austin, and it still be cheaper with all the travel, or shipping, what have you, included. I can't do this, not now. I wonder if I could do it as a tax right off. Class pet and all, as Nigella used to travel to work with me everyday. Hmm. I mean I AM a science teacher. That is a stupid reason, I should do it cause being in the company of a parrot is my hearts desire, and has been for several months now. Ok, I'm not going to rush into this. I'll wait and buy a nice cage, suspended play gym, and toys first. Then when I have absorbed the cost of that, THEN I'll think about another lovely feathered friend.
