So I'm a genealogy nut, right? I even dream about researching family trees. It's gotten so out of control I don't even only focus on my direct line any longer.

My Grand-Aunt Mildred and her Husband were evidently heavily involved in some sort of Alister Crowley lead-- religion? Sect? Organization? My research into their life keeps leading me to conspiracy theory web sites and people who claim to be in hiding and whose lives are threatened because they reveal to much about these organizations.

I feel like I'm on some sort of armchair cloak and dagger adventure. So far none of my emails to people requesting further research assistance have born fruit. I keep finding Grand Aunt Mildred's name in various books on the subject. Unfortunately most are quiet rare, out of print, and very expensive. Her husbands Alister Crowley first addition book collection is even available through some sort of antiquarian book site.

I barely remember Aunt Mildred. I have fuzzy memories of her doing yoga in our back yard when she would visit.

I crave to know her better. I crave to know how a podunk Texas girl ended up in California at the epicenter of the counter culture movement in the 1930's and from what I've discovered the very ideas that would lead to the 60's counter culture movement.

I want to know more.
