A nice, thick, comforting pot of Deming, New Mexico style green chili stew is bubbling away as we speak. The Food in Deming is some of the best low cuisine New Mexican to be had anywhere. It's when I'm most homesick that the green and red chili stash that is so hard to get here in Houston gets raided. Enough said about that. *** Well the huge piece of paper, the heavy wonderfully smooth kind, with a high percentage of cotton rag in it, has been hung above the couch. I'm not sure what is going to get drawn/painted onto it, but it's up now and I can start work when the mood strikes. For now it can hang above the couch as if it is some sort of minimalist statement, an antithesis to the clutter of the rest of my apartment. Really, somehow it's kind of soothing to look at with it's clear push pins around it's edges. *** It bothers me that my entries aren't stories any longer. There just facts of my days lined up in neat order. *** "A dream is an answer to a question we havn't yet figured out how to ask." Dana Scully, from Fox television's 'The X Files' *** Mmmm . . . Just tasted the Green Chili Stew, it's bubbling perfectly. Nice and gentle. I just tasted it. It is by far the best I've ever made. 30 more minutes and I'll be setting down to a nice bowl, and a couple of whole wheat tortillas. WE ALL FALL DOWN
