and the winner is . . .

Ok, I think I have come to a decision.

That being, one more year in Houston.

Several things have led me to this decision.

First, money. By staying I will be able to finish paying off my debts this year, and move next year Debt free. And the raise we got this year was a big incentive I admit, and I know next year the gulf between pay in New Mexico and Texas will be even larger, at least I will be able to move debt free.

Secondly, the magnet schools in New Mexico are mainly doing science/technology splits, and I will have one more year of training from the company (that I mentioned months ago) that deals specifically with science and technology integration, and in and of it self is a possible future job opportunity, especially in what looks to be an emerging market in New Mexico.

Thirdly, how many teachers have principals come to them and say, "What will it take to get you to stay?" And mean it? I mean this is a great situation to be in, and as one of my dearest friends said, "You would be silly not to milk it for all it is worth." Or something along those lines.

Fourthly, our science specialist is leaving, I'm like the only one who knows this. This vacancy will leave me with even more leveraging power.

Fifthly, I'm a great teacher right? And wow, I mean these people I work with, it kind of feels good to see all that they are willing to do to persuade me to stay. I've never been invited to so many Sunday dinners in my life!

Ok, so, I'm planting my roots and I'm going to thrive , then I'm transplanting myself to Santa Fe, 3 years earlier then I thought.
