do nothing day interupted
Sunday, August 31, 2003 @ 1:08 p.m.

I've been feasting on persimmons. A glutton for them I am. I haven't even shared with the birds! I picked a lot of green ones and am surprised at just how fast they are ripening. I thought it would take a few days at least but some of the ones that were green yesterday were ripe this morning, lucky me.

Tropical storm Grace has us under heavy grey skies and I've decided this is the perfect day to officially do nothing but stay curled up in bed, mug of hot orange ginger mint tea in hand, Buffy dvd's cast on the screen. I can do my do nothing day until about 4 as Habibi is coming over for a dinner of Basil beef and toothsome roasted red snapper with Thai dipping sauce for it's succulent meat.

I awoke a couple of times during the night to the lull of a steady rain. A slow rain to saturate the powdery dry ground. I've neglected my patio garden. I walked out there yesterday to find my japanese maple crispy. I have no one to blame but my attention focused elsewhere self.

Nigella Red-belly reminds me of a dog in her temperament. She insists on being with, 24-7. Loves to get scratched behind her ears, prefers to be on me on near me than playing with her toys, and would rather eat what I'm eating. She doesn't beg she just hops or flies on over and try to steal what she can before I react. She's talking up a storm. "Hi." and "Hello." mainly. She's finally started eating her gourmet birdie bread. She's not eaten any of her pellets to my knowledge so getting her to down the highly nutritious birdie bread makes me happy. She goes into throws of ecstasy if I stroke her beak gently, pinch stroking it with my thumb and forefinger.
