The Last Kabbalist of Lisbon
Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003 @ 9:02 p.m.

I'm reading The Last Kabbalist of Lisbon. It's a fantastic read. Every turn of the page makes my heart pound and my anxiety increase. I have a feeling it will be one of those books without a resolution. The historian in me is fascinated. The human in me is terrified and saddened, and even seered with visions of my own subgroup being persicuted and hunted down in some imagined future time of barbaric atrocities. Atrocities that leave little room for us to claim even a shred of humanity as a species.
