Upon arriving in Albuquerque
Sunday, Oct. 02, 2005 @ 5:45 p.m.

So, soon after I arrived in Albuquerque Ms. Buffy Ann Summers, Garrick and I went to the bubble lounge to smoke shisha and watch the lovely belly dancers. It was a fantastic evening. I was really impressed with the downtown Albuquerque scene. It's much more alive and vital then even Houston's just now coming back from the dead downtown. Although the lovely belly dancer came out blurry in this shot as I wasn't using a flash I still rather like the since of movement and otherworldliness that is conveyed.

On one of my last evenings before the end of summer and my return to work I went down to old town and walked the plaza. It seems so much more authentic now. When I was a child it was such the tourist trap. Now it seems vital and alive and if it's poised to take back it's rightful place as city center. The church on the plaza, it's territorial colonial architecture, seemed to call out to me. I spent a great deal of time just sitting near it and admiring it's solid strength it's warm and inviting glow

As soon as I purchased my new to me Nikon 8800 I really didn't play with it as much as I had anticipated doing. I did start playing around with it's macro capabilities. I have the worlds MOST unstable hand, but I still rather like this little still life in miniature. I guess the 8800's vibration reduction really does help quiet a bit. I went shopping for tripods but was shocked at their easily over a 100 bucks price tags. My falling to pieces hand-me-down tripod will have to do for a long time coming.
