So, um, evidently the budget crunch was all a big mistake. Something about our money being tucked away in the wrong accounts. As of yesterday at 8:30 in the morning, my budget was secured and then some. It seems one of the superintendents decided to throw obscene amounts of money in our schools general direction. OBSENE amounts.

I'm moving full steam ahead on the restoration of the reforested areas and the building of the new vegetable gardens and orchards before they decide we don't have any money again. My philosophy is that if the money is already legally committed to a vendor they can�t take it away from me.

I've also started an initiative to get each grade level to raise $50 for a citrus tree of their choice to be planted in their courtyard. (Our school has 7 courtyards.) The notion that years and years from now, when I'm long gone from this school, that all these fruit trees will still be bequeathing their bounty upon the campus makes me smile.
